I am proud to disclose that when my Italian Grandmother Mary Frances Pugnetti lived with my Grandfather Antonio in a mining community in Washington State she was consulted about the prospect of moving to a better house with indoor plumbing. She was not interested and scoffed at the idea of having to buy special paper to wipe with when relieving oneselft. She was very content to rely on used sewing pattern paper in the outhouse.

I am sure I have made my depression era ancestors proud with my resourcefulness and frugality this week.

In the spirit of gratitude, creativity and resourcefulness, I have been doing a lot to make use of all the vital life giving greenery in our gardens.

Idlis: partially Sprouted Mung Beans and Rice ground and fermented with yogurt. Then Steamed.

Ginger Snap Cookies (warning I improvise a lot with cookies)
1 cup of Soaked and Roasted Almonds and Walnuts
3/4 cup arrowroot
1/4 cup amaranth flour
1 tsp xantham gum
few tsps of grated fresh ginger
1/2 nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 cup Local Maple Syrup and Honey
(I think 1/2 cup oil total) Goats milk Butter
Coconut oil

Salad Dressing:
Udo’s Omega 3.6.9 Oil Blend
Mustard
Local Farm Fresh Garlic
Juice from Sauerkraut
Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
Stevia
Cilantro

5 bags of CSA and homegrown Kale Collards and Chard frozen for winter storage.

JUICING AND BREWING
